Marketing for siding and gutter companies that keeps crews on houses through the fall

Siding and gutters live in the same truck but sell like different trades. A full re-side is a planned, five-figure decision that gets researched in spring and closed over weeks. A gutter job is a few hundred to a few thousand dollars, booked fast, and the cleaning call is the cheapest way into a guards upsell. We build the search, ads and site so both buyers find the right page, and we keep the gutter numbers from hiding what siding is really costing you.

What’s different about selling siding & gutters

Two margins under one roof

Siding clicks run thirty-five dollars because the job is worth fifteen to forty thousand. Gutter cleaning clicks run fifteen dollars for a job worth a couple hundred. Blended cost per lead tells you nothing. We track siding, gutter install, guards and cleaning separately, and set each channel’s budget against its own ticket.

Gutter guards are a national-brand fight

The guard brands buy the “gutter guards” phrases and run TV, which is why that click costs more than gutter installation does. The local win is the cleaning call: the homeowner already paying for a ladder-free day is the one who says yes to guards. The site and the follow-up have to make that pivot.

Manufacturer status is a search asset

“James Hardie siding installers” is a small phrase with low competition and a high click price, because the person typing it has already picked the product and wants the installer. If you hold a preferred or elite status with a manufacturer, it belongs in the page title, the Business Profile and the ad copy, not buried on the about page.

How your customers search

Real numbers, because the plan depends on them. These are the phrases we build siding & gutters campaigns and pages around first.

Search figures are Google Ads Keyword Planner averages for the United States over the trailing twelve months, pulled August 2026. Your market will be a fraction of these; the shape of the demand is what transfers.

When the demand comes

Siding has two peaks: “siding contractors near me” tops out in March and again in September, with the cost research peaking in March ahead of spring installs, then bottoms out in November. Gutters run on the leaf calendar: cleaning and installation both peak in September and October, with a second installation bump in June after spring storms, and everything quiets from November into winter. Siding budget should be up by February for the spring researcher and again in August for the fall closer; gutter budget should be heaviest September through October, when cleaning calls feed guard and install sales.

Where siding and gutter contractors get leads, in order

  1. 01
    SEO & Website Optimization

Both “near me” phrases are Google Maps decisions. A Business Profile with real siding and gutter photos, a page per product (Hardie, vinyl, seamless gutters, guards) and per town is what moves them.

  2. 02
    Paid Advertising & PPC

Siding searches are worth the click; gutter installation is close. Cleaning and guards run at a capped budget, because their ticket can’t carry national-brand click prices.

  3. 03
    Conversion Rate Optimization

The site needs two front doors: a siding estimate path that captures the house and siding type, and a gutter path that books a date. One generic quote form loses both.

  4. 04
    Content & Authority Building

A per-square siding cost page and a guards-vs-cleaning explainer catch the March researcher and the October homeowner who is tired of the ladder.

What we’d do first

  • Separate siding from gutters in every report

Separate phone numbers, forms, campaigns and landing pages. The first month’s report shows siding cost per estimate and gutter cost per booked job as two lines, so a cheap cleaning lead never papers over an expensive siding one.

  • Put manufacturer certifications where search can see them

Hardie, LP or CertainTeed status goes in page titles, the Business Profile description and ad copy. The “installers” searcher has already chosen the product; the page just has to prove you’re the one.

  • Build the cleaning-to-guards path

The cleaning landing page books a date, the confirmation email quotes guards for that house, and the crew leaves a guard quote on the counter. A follow-up text runs a week later.

  • Get the spring siding push live in February

Siding cost page, financing and a town-level page set indexed before March, when both the research and the near-me phrases jump.

Common questions

Should we market siding and gutters together or separately?

Together as a company, separately in every campaign and report. The tickets are an order of magnitude apart, so they need their own pages, budgets and cost-per-lead targets.

Is it worth advertising gutter cleaning at all?

At a capped budget, yes, mostly as the cheapest route to guard and installation sales. We measure it on what the cleaning calls turn into, not on the cleaning ticket alone.

We’re a James Hardie preferred contractor. Does that help with Google?

It helps if it’s visible. Certification phrases are small but carry a high click price and low competition; we put the status in titles, the Business Profile and ad copy so you own them.

When should a siding company start spending?

February. Siding research and near-me searches both peak in March, with a second peak in September. Being live in February means the spring researcher finds you before they see a competitor’s truck.

What does this cost?

Management fees for most clients run between $1,500 and $5,000 a month depending on how many markets and channels we run, plus whatever ad budget you choose. You get a number before you sign anything, it’s month to month, and every account stays in your name.
