Roofing · Homosassa, FL · March – September 2026
A Gulf Coast roofer roughly tripled its monthly Google clicks, with a summer peak of 242
A roofing company on Florida's Gulf Coast. In March 2026 the site drew 39 clicks from about 2,600 search impressions. Six months of service pages, a major performance overhaul, and Business Profile work pushed monthly impressions past 6,000 and lifted clicks to roughly three times the spring level, around 119 a month by August. July brought a peak of 242 clicks in a single month at an average position of 12.8. Positions stayed strong for the core Citrus County roofing terms throughout.

Cache-miss render, before and after the July performance overhaul

Where it started
The site had a handful of pages, none of them built for the searches homeowners in Citrus County actually type. Page load on a cache miss was 9.7 seconds. The Business Profile had not been updated in a long time. Competitors in the area had years of content and reviews built up.
What we did
- Service pages for the roofing work people search for: repair, metal roofing, storm damage, financing, and specific roof types.
- Performance overhaul took cache-miss page load from 9.7 seconds to 0.13 seconds.
- 32 images converted to lossy WebP, removing 24 MB of page weight.
- Business Profile rebuilt with correct categories, services, photos, and a review ask.
- City pages for the towns the crews serve across Citrus County and the surrounding area.

How it happened
From invisible to appearing for real roofing searches
In March 2026 the site drew 39 clicks from about 2,600 search impressions, already ranking on page two for its core roofing terms. Over the next few months the new service and city pages widened that footprint. By May the site was pulling nearly 6,000 impressions a month, and it began appearing for roof repair, metal roofing, roof financing, and storm damage across Homosassa, Spring Hill, and the surrounding Citrus County towns. In July the work compounded into a peak of 242 clicks in a single month at an average position of 12.8. That July figure was a high point rather than a new baseline; clicks settled to about 119 in August, still roughly three times the spring level. This is organic work only, with no paid search.
The performance fix that made everything else possible
Before any content work, the site took 9.7 seconds to render on a cache miss. That is long enough that most visitors leave and Google notices. An overhaul that removed unnecessary plugin calls, enabled object caching, and converted 32 images to lossy WebP brought that to 0.13 seconds. The content changes that followed landed on a site that Google could actually crawl and serve quickly. Speed is not the whole story, but a 9.7-second site cannot rank no matter how good the content is.
